Eldar Murtazin, the famous Russian journalist from Mobile-Review who always seems to know what’s what, published one hell of a tweet this morning. According to him, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S5 in Barcelona on February 23rd at 18:00. That’s one day before the start of Mobile World Congress. Previous rumors said Samsung would hold an event in March in either London or New York, so Eldar’s tweet, assuming it’s accurate, changes everything.

What exactly will the Galaxy S5 “improve” compared to the Galaxy S4? Leaks of questionable quality say it’ll have a larger 5.2 inch screen with a higher 1440p (aka “2K”) resolution. Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 805. At least 3 GB of RAM. And either a 16 megapixel or 20 megapixel camera. Should you believe Eldar? I’m going to say yes. Last year, almost a full month before the Galaxy S4 was announced, he tweeted out the launch date. So he obviously has some nice friends at either Samsung or the PR firm doing Samsung’s marketing.
