The CW network announces the renewal of its TV shows still on the bubble, bringing back Roswell, New Mexico; All American; In the Dark and The 100 for additional seasons. This follows on from the news in January that its 10 other current shows including Riverdale and Supernatural had scored renewals. A reboot of the teen drama, Roswell, New Mexico sees the daughter of a pair of undocumented immigrants discover that the love of her teenage life is an alien of the extraterrestrial variety whose secret she must keep as fear of alien life on earth begins to mount....

Samsung will be releasing a Rose Pink variant of the Galaxy S8+ in Taiwan in July. The handset will be available in limited quantity and has been priced at TW 27,900 ($920). This is just a new color variant of the Galaxy S8+ so you still get the same internals and specs. This means we are looking at a 6.2-inch QHD+ Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 12MP rear shooter, and a 3500mAh battery....

Samsung has just announced a rather peculiar smartphone called the Galaxy Core Advance. It has a 4.7 inch display, like the Galaxy S III, but unlike the GS3’s 720p AMOLED panel, the Advance has an 800 x 480 pixel TFT display. The front of the device also has buttons. A senior Samsung executive has revealed to the press that the company has seen strong preorders for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, which have been better than their expectations. While Samsung’s mobile business president, Koh Dong-jin, did not reveal any exact figures during his briefing with the press, he did say that the Korean company expects its latest flagship handsets to revive its smartphone sales in China, where the company has been lagging behind Apple and other Chinese OEMs....

Samsung Galaxy A71: Design and Display The Galaxy A71 comes with a similar design as the A51. It has a diamond-cut design on the rear with multiple shades of color and a rectangular camera module housing the rear cameras. Last week, SquareTrade supply conducted a bend test on Samsung’s latest Galaxies and found that the display on the Galaxy S6 edge cracked easily under the same pressure under which the iPhone 6 Plus only bent. Samsung has now issued a press statement where it says that the video from SquareTrade assumes a very specific condition where the phone is subjected to 110lbf. This rarely happens in normal conditions with a maximum of 66lbf (30kgf) being generated when a phone is pressed in the back pocket of its user....

In a bid to accelerate its grown in automotive and connected technologies, Samsung Electronics announced today that it will be acquiring HARMAN for approximately $8 billion in cash. The acquisition will give Samsung a major presence in automotive electronics and music system market. If the acquisition goes through, it will be Samsung’s largest ever acquisition in its history. Harman owns a number of sub-brand including the likes of JBL, AKG, and Harman Kardon....

At its Premier event in London yesterday, Samsung unveiled its latest ATIV branded tablet – the ATIV Q. The ATIV Q is an interesting tablet that runs on Windows 8 as well as Android. This “versatile and adaptable” tablet sports a 13.3-inch screen with a whopping 3200×1800 resolution and is optimized for bright sunlight with 178-degrees wide viewing angles. Samsung has also bundled a S-PEN with the device, which should help make note-taking easier on the device....

Earlier this month, a slightly upgraded version of the Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage passed through Chinese certification body TEENA. This led to speculations that the Korean company would be launching an upgraded version of the Note 7 only in China. The head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile division Koh Dong-jin has now confirmed that the company is indeed planning on launching an upgraded version of the Note 7 in China....

Unlike before, the Exynos 9610 is now rumored to be a 10nm chipset. Furthermore, the Exynos 9610 will feature an octa-core processor consisting of four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex A53. The cores will be clocked up to 2.4GHz, and the GPU details have now been updated to Mali-G71 as opposed to the G72. The Exynos 9610 is most likely to be used in the mid-range Samsung devices and perhaps that’s one of the reasons why the company has not opted for Mongoose cores....
